We are just a regular Australian couple, married for over 30 years with two young adult boys. We are making the most of our lives by maximising our travel opportunities before retirement! Many people think they need to wait until retirement or until they win lotto! Unfortuntely, things don’t always go to plan. We are making sure we see our fair share of this country now. We have always traveled more than most while working, taking advantage of long weekends and sneaking in an extra day’s leave here and there.

In August 2018 we both resigned from our jobs to take a “gap year or 2” We have been on the road since then, and hope to extend our “gap year or 2” for as long as possible!

We love the red Outback, country pubs, Aussie rivers, vibrant sunsets, waterfalls, campfires, stargazing and following that secluded bush trail either on foot or in the 4WD. Then of course, there is the Coast! How glorious is it to stroll our Australian coast line, spotting whales, exploring rock pools or splashing in the waves! If you enjoy all those things too, you will just love our adventures! Hope to see you out there!

Savannah Way part 2
We continue our trip across The Savannah Way between Talaroo Hot Springs and Cumberland Historic Chimney, just past Georgetown.
Lots to see along this stretch. After a tour and soak in the beautiful hot springs at Talaroo we detour down to Einsleigh to check out Copperfield Gorge, and we even cop a “brown eye” from a local at the pub! Forsyth is next with some beaut artwork in the trees. We unexpectedly find fresh supplies in a small town along the way, and end up free camping and spotting dozens of different birds at Cumberland Historic Chimney.

***** NEW VIDEO *****This week we continue our trip along The Savannah Way, from Talaroo Hot Springs to Cumberland Chimney. We learn about the springs on a tour, and have a private soak in the hot tub. We detour down to Copperfield Gorge, where we splash around in the shallows and then on to Forsyth where we find artwork in the trees. Georgetown has some fresh supplies (we haven’t seen that for quite some time!) and we finish with free camping and bird watching at the historic chimney. Grab a beer or a wine and come along with us! ... See MoreSee Less
