Derby Tasmania – Free Camping.

Derby Tasmania is a little country town on the river in the Break O Day shire. Derby offers two free camping areas. One with toilets and showers and the one we stayed at, Derby Big Rig camping. Both campgrounds are dog friendly. Derby is a very busy town for mountain bikers. The tracks around Derby bring tourists from around the country. Recently completed is a suspension bridge over the river that leads to more walking and bike tracks, and a fantastic bike pump track for the young and young at heart! The Big Rig campground has no facilities but location was great.
