Day 6: Barossa Valley all day

Today is our first day without travel!
First stop was visitor information centre, we worked out our plan for the day. I am organising the National Kokoda Caravan gathering to be held in Nuriootpa in October, so my main intention today was to check out the caravan park and Function areas to envisage my plans and make sure everything will run smoothly. Firstly though, we visited the sculpture park and lookout before spending a few hours at Maggie Beer farm. We tasted absolutely everything! And purchased several delights!
A coffee was calling us, and we enjoyed sipping our drinks while watching turtles playing in the shallow waters below the cafe. It’s a beautiful location and was a great start to the day.
From then on, we were flat out checking the location of all planned activities for our gathering. We are very happy with everything arranged so far, and look forward to a smooth running event.
Before we knew it, it was 3pm and we were starving! Although there are plenty of food options in The Barossa, we drove back to the caravan for a simple sandwich.
Not long after arriving back at the van we had some fellow Kokodians visit for afternoon drinks! We only then realised how late we actually were having lunch, but no need to worry when lunch is followed closely by Happy Hour!
Conversations and friendships are a big part of caravanning and this afternoons spontaneous visit was lovely. Today has been a busy, but reassuring day. Our Kokoda event will be fantastic!
