Maldon is a historic gold mining town in Victoria, south of Bendigo. The Main Street is full of quaint boutique and antique stores, cafes and has a lovely village atmosphere. The Victorian Goldfieds Railway runs between Maldon and Castlemaine on Sunday’s and Wednesday’s. Everyone loves a steam train, including us! We had a pleasant return journey while reflecting on the ways of the past. There is a small caravan park in town as well as free camping at Butts Reserve. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Maldon.
