We stayed at Cooee Point for our first few nights in Tasmania. We arrived early after a night sail on The Spirit of Tasmania. Around 8am we set up, then went to the visitor centre for 9am to get our free 48 hour permit. The location is a perfect base to see the sights around Burnie. It can get windy being right on the water, but the view is worth it. There are no toilet facilities as the area is for self contained vehicles only. There is a dump point and potable water.
