There are lots of free camps around Echuca. We chose to stay at Christie’s Beach, about 10 minutes from town. This is a huge area but we chose to stay close to the start of the camping area as there were lots of overhanging trees as we drove in. Actually, while we were camped the council came and removed overhanging tree limbs, making it easier for caravans to go down to the actual beach. We were still happy with our riverfront site. No facilities where we stayed, but there are long drop toilets near the beach.
