Gundagai NSW is known as the town half way between Sydney and Melbourne. The “Dog on the Tuckerbox” sits north of Gundagai on the Hume Highway, most people call in there, get fuel, a photo with the dog, maybe have a coffee, and drive on. If you take the time to exit the highway you will discover a quaint little town with lots to see and do. Gundagai is the town of Historic Rail Bridges, there is a restored railway station and a great lookout that oversees the historic bridges and also the Hume Highway. A stark contrast. The town sits on the river. There is a riverfront caravan park and several free camp areas. If time allows, make sure you take the Gundagai exit, you will be glad you did!
